Coach Ackerley has 35 years of coaching experience, working with both children and adults to advance their swimming abilities. She began her swimming career on a summer league team and fell in love with sport. She joined a club team on Mercer Island, WA, where she grew up, and went on to swim in college for Arizona State University, where she earned All-American status. She began coaching during college, and since then has coached both club and masters swim teams in Arizona and Washington. Most recently, she was the Head Coach for Bainbridge Island Swim Club for over 10 years. During her tenure, the team was among the Top 5 performing clubs in the Pacific Northwest. Coach Ackerley was awarded Coach of the Year twice during this time.

Coach Ackerley works with swimmers of all levels, including those new to the sport looking to improve, as well as seasoned athletes seeking to finesse and hone their skills. In particular, she is excited to help swimmers find their "breakthrough" - meeting athletes wherever they are on their journey and helping them to craft and meet their goals.
